One day in the middle of June, Mildred Durnam, Modsville's local toymaker, was dealing with a serious case of a creative drought. However, upon putting on some music, Mildred gains inspiration for their very next creation: a music-based doll. They decided that this doll was going to be very ambitious; they wanted to make it life-sized, something that resembled a real, living girl.
Three days and three nights Mildred worked on this lovely doll. They made every part of it themselves, from each porcelain limb down to every inch of fabric. Their plan successfully came into fruition, and Mildred had decided to name this doll Maestro.
But Mildred came across a problem. Maestro could not stand by herself! This would mean that she would be doomed to sit on a shelf or a table for the rest of her days. This simply could not be; why, how could Mildred subject Maestro to such a fate, especially since all of the other dolls Mildred created were able to stand on their own?
Rather than exploring physical means of fixing this, Mildred opted for a shortcut. Mildred happened to not only be a toymaker, but also a witch, albeit a rather inexperienced one. So, Mildred browsed through their vintage spell books, and opted for a spell that looked easy enough to perform, yet would easily solve their problem.
Unbeknownst to Mildred though, this spell wouldn't just allow Maestro to stand. It would make her come to life!
Personality
Maestro is a sweet but often curious girl who has a desire to know more about the world around her. While she is a doll made out of porcelain, she happens to be very full of life and holds politeness to her heart. She was seemingly created with a vast knowledge of music, ranging from even the most obscure of instruments to the most common. However, the violin happens to be her favorite.
While she tries to follow closely in Mildred's kind image, she can occasionally be a little sassy and short fused, especially since her doll-like appearance tends to have people underestimate her actual abilities. Maestro knows that she is as real a girl as any other, so when people say she isn't, she tends to get a little mad.
Even though Maestro cannot speak, she has the ability to think and portray her own emotions. She also has a shockingly good ability to learn things quite quickly, which is why, despite only existing for a short period of time, she has a good knack of handwriting and sign language already.
